intermediate algebra trivias

Hi! Our class just started discussing a new topic in math regarding intermediate algebra trivias and I did pretty well for most assignments we got but the latest one my professor gave really complicated so I'd appreciate if somebody would help me to understand it! It’s a problem solving homework my algebra professor gave out this day and it’s due next week and I tried answering it but still can’t get it right. I can’t answer it with ease unlike the other homeworks . I had an easy time answering my past homeworks but this particular assignment with specific topic of quadratic formula just gives me difficulty just figuring out how to begin. I’m desperately in need of help. I’ll really be grateful if somebody help me in explaining the steps and how to answer it in a systematic and clear way.

I remember having difficulties with subtracting fractions, absolute values and solving inequalities. Algebrator is a really great piece of math software. I have used it through several algebra classes - Intermediate algebra, Pre Algebra and Intermediate algebra. I would simply type in the problem and by clicking on Solve, step by step solution would appear. The program is highly recommended.
